We had a tremendous response and one thing is clear, imaging is playing a much bigger role in records management than ever before. So what does that mean exactly? Here are some of the highlights of our survey results. Getting TechnicalWhat are people using on the technology side when it comes to imaging their documents?The vast majority of imaging files created are in .pdf or .tiff format. In fact, almost 60 percent of our respondents said they were capturing in .pdf, followed by over 35 percent in .tiff. There also appears to be a wide variety of software and platforms being deployed. The ChallengesOur readers indicated that one of the biggest challenges when it comes to imaging is resourcing around the initial process of scanning and indexing. Finding the right people with the right skills to scan documents and load them into your document management software can be difficult.Many of our respondents indicated that getting outside help with the process saved them time and money and allowed them to more quickly realize the benefits.
